UAE Business Environment Social Entrepreneurship Upcycling & Recycling 69 Smiles Green Truck Promoters At Their Stand by Mayssa Nahlawi 3 months ago “ Recycling and achieving a sustainable society is a collective effort, ” says Diya Khalil, co-founder of Green Truck , a recycling transportation service providing convenient, affordable, and genuine recycling solutions to residents of UAE villa communities. Next month, this service will give their residents the chance to join that effort–right from their own doorsteps. With 117 pre-registered clients to date, the service is slated to start the first of May.
Each household will get a bin to collect recyclable items including paper, plastic, glass, metal cans and electronics. Service subscribers will only have to give Green Truck access to these bins once a week. Once these items are collected, Green Truck workers will segregate recyclable items at Enviroserve facilities, from where it will then be forwarded to specialized UAE-based recycling factories.
Public reaction to the project has been extremely diverse, Khalil says.
