Born in Saudi Arabia and based in Los Angeles, the artist unapologetically speaks about the social challenges faced by women in her song, a mixture of pop, blues, and Arabic influences. “I won’t share my name, I won’t share my name in this gender game; If I say my name or I show my face I should be ashamed,” she says, unveiling gender prejudice and putting words to a conflict that women victims of aggression endure every day.
The video was released last October as part of her #GenderGame campaign, a direct call for women to not focus on the limitations of a patriarchal society , but instead feel proud in their own skin and focus on what they can give the world.
