For most, Syria is now known through images of war and destruction. Yaser and Nawara hold on to their knowledge of Syria and share beautiful stories of a heritage and a rich culture. Displaced from their homeland, the two speak at any event and in every venue they can find about their passion.

They write about, speak about, and encourage production of the beautiful natural hand woven, wool, flat rugs in the northern Kurdish – Syrian town of Afreen. The colors are mesmerizing. The rugs themselves are pieces of art, brilliant and intricately designed.
