Some are heartbreaking. Some others, invigorating. But these Instagram pictures all have one thing in common: they offer an opportunity to genuinely peak into Palestinian people’s resilience in overcoming life under occupation.

Created by 21-year-old twins Samah and Sara, the page aims at filling a void in the Instagram micro-sphere. “There wasn’t really an account showing only pictures of Palestinians, and that’s why we chose to be different than the rest. Our message to the world is showing people that Palestinian people are innocent and love the life, and simply a focus on how the living conditions in Palestine are,” they tell BarakaBits. As most pictures in their gallery, these 10 photographs are a testimony of a people’s strength to pursue education and thrive against all odds.

"Palestinian girls sit in the classroom, as a paper with arabic writing that reads "martyr Sobhi Ayyad" the name of a student who was killed during the war, is placed at her empty seat in Gaza".
